I'm thrilled to share the successful return of the Action Research for Continuous Improvement program (AR4CI). Myself, Dr. Damian Bebell and Dr. Holly Ludgate, welcomed 35, K-12 schools from around the globe 🌎 to kick-off a transformative 10-week professional learning journey 👩💻 where teachers and leadership work together to design, conduct, and share their own unique research-based inquires. We learned how leading classrooms and schools are using their own data, self-reflection, and research tools to support their initiatives! I'm excited to announce that I’ll be joining the NCME Graduate Student Issues Committee (GSIC)! As part of this group, I'll be working to enhance the experience of graduate students within the National Council on Measurement in Education.
The GSIC is made up of students, faculty, and volunteers who create opportunities, organize events, and provide professional development for graduate students in educational measurement. From managing internships and fellowships to hosting webinars and producing a career paths podcast, our goal is to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all. I’m thrilled to contribute to this amazing group and look forward to making a positive impact on the graduate student experience within NCME! Pleased to share that I presented at the NASPA Assessment, Planning, and Data Analytics Conference in Anaheim, California with my colleague, Amanda Jarvis. We shared some of the work we are doing at the MIT Sloan School of Management and how important it is to ensure that college and university staff have access to resources to support their health and wellbeing.
It was a pleasure to welcome a group of enthusiastic and brilliant students from my alma mater, Le Moyne College, to my office at MIT Sloan School of Management. Jonathan Cowin, MSW and I enjoyed getting to know the students and LOVE that they get to participate in such an impactful program like Manresa!
It was a pleasure to attend this year's AERA and NCME annual meetings in Philadelphia, PA. I like to call these conferences the "most magical place on earth." The gatherings are massive, bringing together some of the greatest educational researchers, practitioners, and measurement professionals. AERA offers a vibrant mix of well-established scholars, students, and everyone in between. I love the energy, the exchange of new ideas, and the overall sense of community that comes from coming together.
Last Conference and last presentation of the year!! Whew - and what a year it's been! My presentation at hashtag#NEAIR went well. I especially LOVED the thoughtful questions and discussion at the end. And the bonus: I met and learned from a lot of fantastic people! I always love presenting on the great work we're doing at MIT Sloan School of Management! See you next year!😊
I had the pleasure of presenting at NCORE alongside members of the MIT Sloan School of Management community. The attendees were highly engaged, asked insightful questions, and expressed interest in future collaboration with us. Our session was titled "Changing the Decision-Making Context: A Systems Approach to Building an Inclusive & Equitable Organization."
That's a wrap!! AAC&U's Diversity, Equity, and Student Success conference was fantastic. I'm thrilled to have presented at a conference for the very first time, and I always love hearing about the great work being done at other institutions. . HUGE shout out to my good friends and colleagues at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Our session was titled, "Stronger Together: A Systems-Based Approach to Staff Belonging."
