I am thrilled to share an exciting update from my service work. As Co-Chair of the Graduate Student Issues Committee (GSIC) for the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME), I’ve had the privilege of supporting a talented and dedicated group of colleagues. This year, committee members Khem Sedhai, Catherina Villafuerte, Brien Mosely, and Alexis Oakley submitted a proposal for a coordinated paper session at the annual meeting, and it was accepted!
The session, titled “Reimagining Measurement: History, Method, and Consequences across Higher Education and Statewide Testing,” will take place at the Annual Meeting, April 8–11 in Los Angeles, CA. My dear friend and co-chair, Claudia Ventura, will serve as Session Chair, and I am honored to serve as the Session Discussant. This will be my first time as a Discussant, and I couldn’t imagine a more meaningful opportunity than engaging with the scholarship of dear friends whose work I admire deeply. I’m excited to contribute to the conversation and support their important research.
